Thorson • Baker + Associates (TBA) was founded in 1993 by Mike Thorson & Gordon Baker to provide engineering consultation and design services for the building construction industry. TBA offers structural, mechanical, commissioning, electrical and technology engineering design services nationwide with professional registration in forty-nine states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta Canada. Civil engineering services are offered throughout the Midwest. In 2019, after Mike and Gordon's retirement, the following long-time principals became official owners of TBA: Guy Hicks, Nate Kobb, Dennis Maille, Jeff Miterko, Dave Nemeth, Don Schehl, and Nick Steinert.
We offer unique solutions incorporating today’s latest technologies with creative problem solving. We integrate the latest analytical software available for structural analysis and energy modeling as well as 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) to provide system optimization of the structural, HVAC, energy conservation systems and building envelope. Our staff includes over 15 LEED Accredited Professionals providing a knowledgeable and pragmatic approach to application of sustainable design principles and when a project goal includes LEED Certification.
Diligent service, creative design solutions, attention to detail and economy of design, furnished within the project schedule and parameters are the standards upon which TBA has been founded. Our company philosophy stresses management involvement as a key requirement for a successful project. Each project is placed under the direct supervision of a principal beginning with initial preliminary studies through construction documents and administration.
Attentive service with a personal touch combined with a dedication to meeting project schedules and deadlines are goals of TBA. We understand that in business, you are only as good as your last project. It is our goal to make Thorson • Baker + Associates your choice not just one time, but every time for your most challenging and important projects.
